The exceptionally rigorous and rational Rose building has recently been awarded the LABC Award for Design Quality in B&NES along with being highly commended for Building Quality. This project represents outstanding value for money at less than £1300/ m2 construction cost. It was designed and delivered in less than a year with a construction period of 7 months. The Cross Laminated Timber structure and cantilevered beams are optimised to reduce wastage and support the suspended steel stair inspired by South Korean artist Do Ho Suh.
