Fergus and Edmund met while studying at Cambridge and soon discovered shared passions for architecture, design and cycling. This led to several successful competition entries at University level and the foundations of the partnership. Their first large commission came as they graduated from Part I, to design an environmental home in Wales. This project, Ty Pren, launched the partnership and fired ambitions to be an exceptionally green practice.

The commitment to sustainable design is three-fold; underpinning the approach to each project, profoundly affecting the completed buildings delivered, and informing their own behaviour as individuals. The practice has a strong intellectual culture, concerned with the ethereal and philosophical aspects as well as the fundamentals of construction. Over the last three years, the practice has expanded both in terms of the range of commissions and members of the team. This offers a wider range of skills including the greater expertise in sustainable design, ability to generate computer simulations, knowledge of specialist construction systems and physical modelling with our in-house model maker.
