Ernest Cook Trust

The Ernest Cook Trust is one of the UK’s leading outdoor learning charities, rooted in the conservation and management of the countryside and actively encouraging children and young people to learn from the land through hands-on outdoor learning opportunities. Feilden Fowles was appointed through a competitive tender and selected on the strength of their environmental design in sensitive settings.

Working in close consultation with the charity’s trustees and members of staff, the practice has developed an open plan building to unite everybody under one roof and encourage connection and visibility between teams. Constructed of brick, timber and glass, the new buildings draw on the language of glasshouses and potting sheds once located on the site.
