FF Oxford Lecture

Ox Arch Lecture – Tonight – 20/11/12

Fergus will be giving a lecture this evening at Oxford Brooks University. The theme for the lecture series is ‘The Future of the Architect’. Following a summary of our work and practice, the talk will focus on how the profession should progress in these challenging times, how FF are finding new approaches to practice and how architects might adapt and evolve in the coming years.

FF studio gets a makeover

In preparation for our studio event on 27.10.11 we have been refreshing our space. The improvements include a new raised floor, which has been heavily insulated with a combination of Thermafleece (sheepswool) and an acoustic/ thermal layer of superfoil. New ply clad walls and window boxing will continue our gradual sealing of the existing concrete framed building fabric in preparation for the winter.

FF Studio Event

FF Studio Event – 27.10.11
The date is set for the official launch of our new website and a celebration of 1 year in our new studio. To celebrate, we are hosting a discussion titled “Future Practice Directions”. There will be an exhibition of our recent work and a party to celebrate a successful year. We have an exciting lineup our Chair, Olly Wainwright- BD buildings editor, Daniel Rosbottom- Head of Kingston Architecture Department and founding partner at DRDH, along with David Saxby, founder of 00/: and Caroline Cole, founder and director of Colander.

Queens Court goes on site

Queens Court Refurbishment
Works began on site last week for this extensive conversion of a 1930’s apartment in west London. The design draws from the Palladian symmetry of the original apartment layout, which as been emphasized through a dark walnut-lined central axis. The 14week construction programme will see works completed in December 2011. You can see more of the project here.

Smallhope Begins on Site

Smallhope
Demolition on the main house has recently been completed and the new ground slab for the extension is to be cast shortly. We are delighted to be working with Speller Metcalfe, who are delivering a tight construction programme on this extensive eco-renovation project in the cotswolds. The adjacent studio conversion (phase 1) has recently been completed.
