We are so proud to be announced as BD Public Building Architect of the Year 2021, and to have scooped the prestigious Gold Award. It is a privilege to serve the public through our projects and are very humbled. We look forward to continuing our work with aspirational and ambitious clients serving both local and international communities on a range of exciting heritage, cultural, and educational public commissions.

It is a real honour for The Weston, Yorkshire Sculpture Park to be awarded a Civic Trust Award this year alongside so many inspiring projects contributing to our built environment and society. See all the winners here.

We are delighted to launch our new visual identity designed by A Practice for Everyday Life, commissioned to encapsulate our approach to design, with a focus on materiality, detailing and craft. Central to the new identity is a bespoke typeface designed by the APFEL Type Foundry, in addition to a comprehensive set of templates, both digital and print, and update to our website.

Wood Work is the Building Centre’s online lunch-time talks series, featuring international designers and their wood inspired projects. Our Associate, Ingrid Petit, will be kickstarting the series by presenting our project, Waterloo City Farm in London, on Wednesday 10 February. A link to the lecture and more information here.

Our project, The Weston, a gallery and visitor centre at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, has been nominated alongside many amazing entires for the 2022 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. Check out all the projects here – finalists to be announced in March.

We are very proud of our Associate Ingrid Petit who has been nominated for the prestigous MJ Long Prize, named in memory of inspirational architect, lecturer and writer Mary Jane (MJ) Long, as a part of the AJ/AR’s W Awards 2021. Ingrid has demonstrated her incredible talent, patience and persistence particularly as Project Architect on two of our recently completed works, The Fratry in Carlisle, and Pinewood School in Wiltshire.
The prize winners will be honoured during the virtual W Awards week which commences on Monday 8 March to coincide with International Women’s Day.

As 2020 comes to a close we reflect on what an unprecedented year this has been for us all and it has certainly reframed the way we think and work. However we are pleased to be able to celebrate many positive moments this year in spite of the challenging circumstances. An enormous thank you to all our amazing team, clients, collaborators and friends for supporting us through this year. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy over the holiday period!
